In January 2018, Athora Holding Ltd. disconnected itself from its former parent company, Athene Holding Ltd. A part of the Athora Group since January 2019, Athora Belgium has been active in Belgium since 1901 under the brand Generali and is currently the 11th largest insurer in the country. The acquisition of Generali Belgium that took place in 2018 was the first step of Athora's ambitions in Belgium.
Athora Belgium builds on the very valuable 118 years of history and experience of Generali Belgium. It provides a broad set of insurance solutions to retail and corporate clients through a network of over 1,000 independent brokers and serves the Belgian market with a comprehensive product set including single and recurring premium savings; pension and unit-linked life products; and car, home and renters insurance. Athora Belgium has approximately 530,000 customers served by a team of some 400 employees. In 2018, total premium income amounted to approximately €685 million and Athora Belgium's asset portfolio amounted to approximately €6.5 billion.

After 3 years in the Contact Center, I had a generic knowledge of the company's products and processes. But I was looking for more in-depth knowledge and responsibilities. When a position became available in the underwriting & administration Non-Life retail department, I quickly decided to apply. I went through the internal mobility process and got the job. I am a member of the Compliance Team. Part of my job is to prevent money laundering in activities linked to Athora. As a keen sportsman, I feel in my element at Athora. The job brings a lot challenges, I see people coming to work by bicycle as I do (25 km one way) and my company is a great sponsor of many sports events.
