As Senior Investment Expert in a pan-European Insurance group, you will be responsible for developing and executing the organization’s investment strategy and helping the company achieve its ambitious financial and strategic objectives. Reporting directly to the Head of Investments, you will join an investment team and participate to oversee the investment portfolio, ensure alignment with organizational goals, optimize returns and manage risks in compliance with Belgian and International regulation. This dynamic senior position will also enable you to grow your investment knowledge and start interacting with major stakeholders in the organization.

Your responsibilities
As Senior Investment Expert, you are responsible for e.g.:
- Implementing the investment portfolio along the approved allocations.
- Following up the investments and the portfolio: analysis of the portfolio moves, new investments, derivative impact, and compliance with regulation.
- Monitoring and mitigating risks, including credit, interest rate, and market risks.
- Performing investment analysis/Fund selection based on quantitative (risk/return, beta, max drawdown, sharpe ratio, etc.) and qualitative analysis (team, process, style: such as growth vs value, etc.).
- Updating cash balances, reconciliating daily cash positions.
- Executing trades for the balance sheet (bonds, forwards, futures, IRS, CCS, swaptions, etc.) within the investment framework and pre-defined limits (dv01, cs01, etc.). Following up with trade execution and verify the pricing obtained.
- Running scenario analyses and stress tests on the investment portfolio.
- Overseeing the allocation and performance of the investment portfolio, ensuring optimal returns within the defined risk tolerance.
- Reporting the evolution of the portfolio and explaining the differences compared to the previous period: analysis of change and presentation to the executive members.
- Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.
Your profile
- You have at least a bachelor’s degree in actuarial sciences, financial engineering, applied mathematics, business administration, finance, economics or equivalent.
- You have at least 5 years' experience in a relevant position, preferably acquired in an investment or ALM department within the insurance or financial sector. International experience or environment is an asset.
- You are a native French or Dutch speaker with good command of the other national language and have a strong command of English.
- You have a strong knowledge of Solvency II.
- You have financial product knowledge (Credit, Fixed Income, Liquidity, Derivatives) and have initial experience of ALM, assets, cash flows, liabilities.
- You have initial of risk management and risk parameters (Statistical analysis Derivative Greeks…)
- You are a skilled user of MS Office and have a good knowledge of Excel/VBA.
- You are organized and can work to tight deadlines and conflicting priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- You show good communication skills and can present findings to senior and management stakeholders effectively and clearly.
- You are dynamic and result-oriented, with the willingness to get stuck in.
- You have strong work ethics and a can-do attitude.
- You have strong interpersonal skills, with ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
